Belly at 36 weeks/8 months

Our little Lille and thus Hanneke's belly has been growing steadily over the last couple of weeks/months. There is now only one month left, or maybe just a few weeks...

It is quite interesting that the experience of this pregnancy is quite different than when we were expecting Lucas. This is, I think, due to various things, such as that it is quite simply the second pregnancy but maybe even more so that we have another child who we of course give a lot of attention, thus having less time to "experience" the pregnancy. But at the same time, it sometimes looks even more difficult to imagine that there is really a baby inside there (even though you have proof from the previous pregnancy), while it is also a nice experience to enjoy the pregnancy in a more relaxed way, all-in-all making this pregnancy very special as well.

Ultrasound at 19 weeks

On January 8, when Hanneke was (supposed to be) 18 weeks and 6 days pregnant, we had another routine appointment at the hospital in Sønderborg. The main purpose of this appointment was to do an ultrasound to check whether our little Lille was developing as he was supposed to. Everything seemed to be all right and in line with the general development of a fetus. If things go well, this is also our last ultrasound as they, in principle, don't do any more ultrasounds in Denmark. Quite different than what we were used to in Switzerland!

Lucas will get a brother or sister!

In about six months, Lucas will get a little brother or sister! To be more precise, I'm 13 weeks and 3 days pregnant now and the due date is June 5, 2010. We already had an appointment at our own doctor and we had our first ultrasound to check if everything is ok and to determine the due date. In a few weeks, we will have our first appointment with a midwife as well. The check ups in Denmark are done by your own doctor as well as a midwife. It is actually quite different than what we were used to in Switzerland.

Luckily, I'm feeling well again. From week 5 until week 12 I was quite nauseous.

Below, you can see the ultrasound of our little "Lille" (Danish for "little"), which is how we call our new little one. He (or she of course) is about 6 cm.

Lucas has his own website: www.lucasbogers.com

Our Lucas is still doing great. He is a very sweet boy! Without any prejudice I can honestly say he is most likely the sweetest and most beautiful boy who is ever born!

Lucas now also has his own website: http://www.lucasbogers.com/
