Six weeks pregnant: 3rd ultrasound

This is the third ultrasound, around six weeks in the pregnancy. We also heard the heart beat! (See also second picture where you can see the heartbeat.) On the picture you can see Hanneke's womb with the little "something" that starts to take the shape of an actual baby, although this is still "work in progress". The uterus is also growing and our "something" now measures approximately 6 mm... You can hardly imagine that! Although I generally don't really believe in miracles, this is truly miraculous!

We were also very happy to hear and see that our little baby to be--still called an embryo but on its way to becoming a "real" fetus--was growing normally (also because Hanneke's blood was checked to see if her hormone level was rising). We were a little bit worried but this ultrasound was a big comfort to us. The gynecologist also indicated that everything was going as it should--to the extent one can see at this stage. It seems that we should have a little bit more faith in our little one who is on its way to becoming a real baby. :)

I remember the first ultrasound of my first kid, I was so so exited and scared at the same time.
