Today Hanneke is about seventeen weeks pregnant and we had another check-up with the gynecologist. He checked if everything was all right and answered some of our questions (e.g. about the hospitals to deliver the baby and preparatory courses). He also checked Hanneke's weight and blood pressure and he checked the urine for infections. And everything was perfect! She hasn't gained any weight yet, although her belly (with our Kleintje in it) is slowly growing (see picture). Hanneke also had to give blood. The last time he already did some tests to check for Down syndrome and today we got the result. The chance is 1 on 220490. Other tests like toxoplasmosis were also negative (which is good).
He also quickly checked our Kleintje with an ultrasound. It was great to see out little one again! He was lying there comfortably with his tiny knees pulled up towards his body. He is now about 20 cm big (or small). The ultrasound was not very detailed and we therefore do not have any picture to upload. The next time, he will do a very detailed check of the baby. We did hear the heart beat again, which remains a very impressive experience. The heart beat was about 150 beats per minute, which is perfectly normal.

I don’t see your belly as the size of mine. I have learnt from the doctor that pregnancy differs a lot in every woman. I am 16 weeks pregnant now and gained some weight. I sense the bumps and kicks of little cute baby. He might be the size of an organe.
